New babies!

I just uploaded my new babies... the Jolies Filles (Pretty Girls) French Dolls :]
Each one of them are unique and have sweet little personalities and are very eager to find new homes.
They are original handmade clothespin dolls. Their dresses and bows are handmade from vintage ribbon and fabric. Their arms are hand sculpted from clay, and they stand at 4.5" x 1.5" wide.

This is Cécile. She enjoys long walks through the woods, reading Shakespeare aloud, and drinking purple soda-pop.
This is Zoé. She enjoys writing short stories, reading the Classics, and dancing around to loud French Pop.

This is Olivie. She enjoys shopping with friends, singing in the shower, and eating double chocolate chip cookies.

This is Élise. She enjoys sad love songs, Saturday afternoons, and black and white films.

This is Sophie. She enjoys sleeping in late, photography, and telling jokes. Her dress and bow are both handmade from vintage ribbon and fabric.

This is Aimée. She enjoys long walks through the woods, reading Shakespeare aloud, and drinking purple soda-pop.

And this....

is my baby. Adèle. She's partial to Jones soda, bands like Bright Eyes, John Butler Trio, and Playradioplay. She also loves my puppy Curtis. :] We get along just swell.
---
Anyway, this past week, my family and I went to D.C. for a little visit. And we had lots of fun. We cracked on each other, fought over who got to use the bathroom first, and some people...(no names mentioned)... battled each other with obnoxious whale-like snores. Lol.
We went to some museums, shopped, drove around and looked at the lovely homes, walkedddddddddd (my feet hurt even thinking about all of that walking!), and generally had a great time. :]
I also got to take a look at the National Art Gal. but sadly, I didnt even get to look through the entire thing. :/ Next time for sure, though! :]
Well, I have to go study for my ACT some more...
G'night miluvs!

Home at last.

Well, after four days in Savannah, I'm back at home.
I loved every minute of it. The people... the places... SCAD... all of it. Wonderful. :]
I took over 300 pictures but only uploaded like 19, lol. If you would like to see them, take a look at my flickr. (clicky-click for the pics)

But anyway, we took a tour of SCAD and I seriously fell in love. I want to do something with web design and illustration, so we made sure to look at those departments and I must say, walking into the ill. building brought a little lump to the back of my throat.
It was the first time I actually found myself thinking "I can do this. I want to do this."

Savannah just fit my contradicting self so perfectly. The old city and buildings and shops and parks... well it all felt like a big city-- which I love. But it was slower paced, and sweeter than a city-- the reasons I like the south. And then, you drive 20 minutes from the city and there are these beautiful marshes and then the beach-- fills my want of lovely country side.

Over all, a very humbling and inspiring trip. I seriously am hopeful of going there for college, if not living there permanently.

In other news, I'm working on a new piece-- should be uploaded today or tomorrow-- of a little boy in celebration of Spring. :] It's my IF project for this week.
Watercolor, of course.

Tomorrow my family and I set off for a grand adventure to the lovely land of SCAD. We will be touring the school, and the surrounding area. I'll take lots of pictures, and upload them hopefully this weekend. :]

But in other news, I wanted to share a lovely gal I found recently:

Her music is fantastic, and I can't wait for her album to come out! :D "Passerby" is simply one of the prettiest songs I've heard in a long, long while.
And that *banner*! Oh, so cute! :]

Have a wonderful evening my mittens, <3.
